The Department of Engineering Management was established in 1999. With the continuous development of China's engineering and construction industry and the increasing emphasis on project management in various industries, engineering management has received extensive attention. As a result, the development of the Department of Engineering Management is also gaining momentum. At present, it has the right to grant doctor's degree in management science and engineering and the right to grant master's degree in engineering project management. Its main research directions include: project decision-making and planning, project investment and financing management, and real estate development management. Bachelor’s degree can be granted in engineering management, master's degree in engineering project management, and second bachelor's degree in project management.

There are currently 14 teachers in the department, including 4 professors, 6 associate professors and 4 lecturers, 1 “Changbai Mountain Scholar” distinguished professor, State Council government special subsidy winner and outstanding talent of the new century by the Ministry of Education. Twelve of the teachers have doctor’s degrees, including one with overseas doctor’s degree and one with overseas postdoctoral research experience. Most teachers have the experience of visiting and participating in academic activities in foreign universities, which facilitates the  learning of advanced teaching contents, methods and means from their foreign peers. Based on the strong scientific research capabilities, the department keeps working on the construction of the disciplines.

Over the past few years, teachers in the department have undertaken more than 30 key research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation and the Ministry of Education and the projects at the provincial and ministerial levels, and have published more than 100 academic papers in important journals at home and abroad, such as Journal of Management Sciences in China, China Management Science, Theory and Practice of Systems Engineering, etc. Full of vigor and vitality, the department has always been at the forefront, adhering to the strategy of international development and continuously improving the teaching and scientific research level.
