The Future Asian Leader Elite Summer Camp 2019 created a platform for students to broaden their horizons, enhance their leadership, and make cross-cultural exchanges, and provided an opportunity for them to understand Hong Kong’s finance, education, and social development, from which the students benefited a lot.

I was more than delighted to have this opportunity to exchange and study at Lingnan University and City University of Hong Kong. I attended lectures given by teachers from Hong Kong, Taiwan and the United States with other students from top universities in the world. We explored the career prospects and competition in the era of AI, listened to speeches on Internet marketing and data algorithms by e-commerce platform entrepreneurs, discussed the source and cultivation of leadership, and considered the economic policies of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area under the Belt and Road Initiative. After class, guided by the teachers, we had an in-depth look into Hong Kong’s history, culture and economy, by studying traditional ancestral halls, visiting the Hong Kong Monetary Authority and the MTR Training Base, and understanding Hong Kong’s economic development status in Tsim Sha Tsui and Ngong Ping. I would like to thank my school for such a rare, eye-opening opportunity.

The Summer Camp focused on marketing and leadership, and expanded horizontally and vertically the knowledge we had learned in school. During the program, I not only gotto know more about students from my school, but also made friends from different places. I also saw life in a different culture, visited the MTR and the HKMA, and saw the uniqueness of Hong Kong. I am inspired to carry on and work for a better future!

My original plan was to experience life in Hong Kong, but it turned out that I had learned a lot during the program. From course by the Dean of the Faculty of Business at Lingnan University on leadership, to the experience shared by outstanding young entrepreneurs, and to the eye-opening speech by Prof. Su Chenting at City University of Hong Kong, it was very insightful and inspirational, which gave me much more to think about future life and study.

—Li Shuang, Class 2018, School of Management

Read ten thousand books, walk ten thousand miles. This trip to Hong Kong benefited me a lot. I expanded my horizon and knowledge from the cutting-edge research and hot topics from the possibility of AI dominating human beings to young entrepreneurs of e-commerce in the era of Internet, and from leadership management skills to the economic development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Standing with a group of new like-minded friends from the top of Ngong Ping and overlooking the civilized and beautiful Hong Kong, I was reminded of the lines, “filled with student enthusiasm, boldly we cast all restraints aside”. It was such a rewarding trip.
